Tantalus |
|
Tantalus transforms triple-play FTTH into a lightning fast Homerun Network™. On display at the Fiber Zone is Tantalus’ RT-4101 Ethernet data transceiver, the first device of its kind to be granted a complete system safety certification based on applicable Underwriters Laboratory standards. The electric meter collar adapter is a safety certified low voltage power delivery system used for power provisioning to externally mounted telecommunications equipment such as Optical Network Terminals as well as other devices including Ethernet Routers, Cable Routers, and UPS modules.
The Tantalus transceiver ensures fast and reliable data communication via Ethernet for Fiber-to-the-Home or Premise (FTTH/FTTP) or cable networks. It is designed for utilities that want to drive more value from an existing fiber network by using it as the backbone for Smart Grid applications including advanced metering, demand response, and distribution automation in addition to triple-play media services. Rapid and reliable, two-way communications enables a utility to improve operational and customer responsiveness through services such as read on-request, immediate outage & restoration notification, and remote disconnect/ reconnect. Furthermore, it allows a utility to introduce dynamic pricing (TOU, CPP, RTP), load shedding and other programs that help conserve energy and minimize costs.

| Verizon Enhanced Communities |
|
|
Verizon Enhanced Communities is Verizon’s business unit dedicated to serving single- and multi-family residential and commercial multi-tenant properties with Verizon FiOS Internet, TV and phone services over the FiOS all-fiber-optic network.
Please visit Verizon at the Fiber Home Zone to see demonstrations of Verizon Concierge, the latest application, offered for free exclusively to properties with Verizon’s FiOS services. Verizon Concierge is a service that will bring about the “virtual lifestyle” benefitting both property management and building occupants.
For property managers, Verizon Concierge helps to organize all of a building’s available concierge amenities under one master platform and interface allowing property staff to focus on providing a more personalized service to their residents and tenants. Verizon Concierge can easily track work orders, and the system prompts for updates until the work is completed.
For residents and tenants, Verizon Concierge provides five-star-hotel-like services, streamlining many tasks and making their execution digital, which increases efficiency and saves time. This means residents and tenants can access Verizon Concierge via any Web browser, mobile App (application) for popular smartphones, and soon on FiOS TV – so a building’s occupants can communicate with each other to set up carpools or clubs; enter maintenance requests; have quick and easy access to schedule property amenities, and set up services from local businesses such as dry-cleaners and taxis; or view availability and reserve a table at a local restaurant.
Eric Cevis, vice president of Verizon Enhanced Communities said, “Verizon Concierge is a robust property management system that can become, replace or work in tandem with existing backend systems, increasing efficiency and potential cost savings for property owners and managers. It will help to further differentiate a property with Verizon FiOS services from one without." For more information visit www.verizon.com/communities or call 866-638-6066.
